FCT was formed in 1984 to bring more scientific methods to combustion engineering for the process industries. The company now has offices in Australia and the US, and agents in many other parts of the world offering services to process industries around the world.
FCT in conjunction with its technical partner in the University of Adelaide is proud to have designed and supplied the entire combustion system and equipment for the main stadium flame at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. This Olympic Stadium flame was seen by more people than any other man-made flame in history.
The flame, utilising FCT's unique Gyro-Therm technology, was extensively modelled with due consideration of the stadium's aerodynamic patterns under expected wind conditions to ensure its performance.
Following on from its successes in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, FCT Combustion Pty Ltd was thrilled to once again be responsible for producing the flames for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. The flames, representing the spirit of Olympic Games, are rich with symbolism and are central to the ceremonies and events surrounding the Games. Their performances are vital to the presentation of the Games and they form a key part of media coverage. FCT carried out the research, development and design for the combustion system of the torch and its workings, and manufactured and delivered the completed torches to the various destination cities around the world. | |
